Head Groom

Molly Cummins

Lisa and her daughter Katie joined the RHEC family in the spring of 2019. Lisa grew up riding horses in a variety of disciplines and has her own barn at her house with many horses. She has won too many National Championships to count in the Arabian world, and has recently started back to jumping and eventing; which she hadn't done since she was a kid.  Her daughter Katie recently purchased OTTB Huey from RHEC and we look forward to seeing where they go in the future! Along with horses, Lisa also enjoys showing dogs! She has many won many titles in the canine world as well. Lisa brings with her a wealth of knowledge with decades of horse experience under her belt, and we are blessed to be able to call upon her when we need something taken care of! We also have several of her horses on loan being used as lesson horses!!

Jenny Rice

Jenny joins us from California. She found us after she and her husband, Todd, moved to the area.  She used to own and operate her own facility in California, Northern Lights Show Jumping. Jenny has ridden through the Grand Prix Level in Show Jumping  and brings a wealth of knowledge both to her riding lessons and the horses that she rides. We find Jenny to be an excellent complement to Ellen's teaching style and riding and are blessed to have her at the barn.

Alex has always had a passion for horses and helping others. He started riding when his older brother married a horse trainer in San Diego, CA. Alex has successfully competed in the hunter/jumper circuit around the US. He took a break from showing and teaching due to health reasons and decided to focus on his education.  After completing his education; a Master's in Clinical Psychology and a Master's in Special Education, Alex decided to get back into horses and was introduced to foxhunting!

Alex is big on sportsmanship; while keeping the sport safe and fun, it is important to support your fellow riders on their accomplishments and be supportive. Alex's skills and knowledge in the care of people and horses combined make him a great asset to the RHEC Family!

Molly joins us from Arizona. She is originally from California but was at ASU for school.  After graduating from ASU, she moved to Dallas to pursue her graduate degree. She and her horse, Pickles, boarded with us for awhile, before Molly came on as Ellen's head groom! Now Molly oversees the day to day activities, puts horses on the theraplate and treadmill, pulls manes, tacks horses up, and keeps Ellen on schedule and things running smoothly. We are blessed to have her positive attitude and smile daily at RHEC!

Assistant Trainer/Instructor

Tristen Wigg

FIVE star level Event Rider. USDF Silver & Bronze Medalist.

Competed through Intermediare Dressage & Grand Prix Show Jumping.

USEA ICP LEVEL III Certified Riding Instructor.
Ellen Doughty-Hume operates Pegasus Eventing out of Rockwall Hills Equestrian Center in Rockwall, TX. When she is not campaigning Obie at the top levels of the sport, Ellen retrains OTTBs for the sport of eventing. She has a current string of young thoroughbreds making their way up the levels, currently competing from Beginner Novice through 2*. She also coaches students of all ages and riding levels in eventing, as well as straight dressage and jumpers.

‚ÄčTristen came to RHEC in the fall of 2020 from Iowa.  She has lots of experience handling and breaking out young horses. She recently completed her first Training Level USEA Event and has her sights set on Preliminary in the Spring with her horse Rin, a 7 year old warmblood that she has owned since she was a weanling.  Her goals also include getting her USDF Medals and moving up the levels in dressage as well as eventing. Tristen is very softspoken and has a great way with the kids. We are very blessed that she made her way to our program; not only is she a terrific teacher, but she is also a great rider. She is naturally soft and has a great way with the young/green/nervous horses.  She is a hard worker and has a great attitude and is a great role model for everyone here at RHEC!
